Our first pet blessing service

Our October family service celebrated our furry, feathered and scaly friends to mark the feast of St Francis of Assissi.

With readings and prayers led by the children of St Matthew's, the service featured favourite hymns, such as All Things Bright and Beautiful, and Rutter's setting of For The Beauty Of The Earth.

Our congregation was swelled in number by our pets, and those who couldn't be relied on to behave were represented by a photo. Each pet and photo received an individual blessing from Rev Mike, and one or two of our canine congregation even joined in on the descants.
